An American Tail is classic Don Bluth. It's song heavy and the majority of them aren't great but I remember even at a relatively young age that his films were a welcome change to the Disney repeats of the time. Not at all perfect but lovable all the same. The cast of voice actors is excellent, including my personal favorite, the late great Dom DeLuise. It's once upon a Time in America for kids.
