Love
Dir: William Eubank
2011
*****
Love is part film, part music video and part poem. To review it as just a movie wouldn't really be doing it justice. Visually it's stunning, from futuristic spaceship to dilapidated prison cell, each shot is beautifully realised. The film is essentially about loneliness and abandonment but it embraces the melancholy through the poetic script, hypnotic music (courtesy of Angels & Airwaves) and the idea that when everything is taken away from you, the creative mind is all that you have to keep you alive. Humans are a social animal, we need interactive, we need each other, we need love. Probably one of the most over looked masterpieces of the last decade.
