Jonathan Demme goes for wind-chime but ends up with car alarm. Honestly, from start to finish the film is overlong and pointless scene after another, each character being as hateful as the next and with some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard. If the intention was to show how painful it would be to spend three days at the wedding of someone you disliked immensely then it was achieved but it obviously wasn't. I'm sorry to say I saw none of the Lumet greatness in the writing, maybe if it was given to a different director but then I probably still wouldn't be interested. No excuse can be given for the poor acting, poor editing and two hour run time.
