Fantastic Voyage
Dir: Richard Fleischer
1966
****
A couple of years before the world would be looking into space, Richard Fleischer was looking a little closer to home. The idea of miniaturization had been explored before but Fantastic Voyage goes one further by looking into the idea of a body going inside another body. The film is dated it's fair to say but the visuals are still brilliant and were awarded and still highly regarded, justifiably so. Unfortunately some of the story and some of the performances let it down. I full remake would be excellent but it would have to have far more back story and build up. The continuous groping of Raquel Welch's breasts is also disturbing but overall it's a brilliant sci-fi classic that is hard not to love. At the very least you can thank it for InnerSpace!
