Dawn of the Dead
Dir: George A. Romero
1978
*****
Ten years after making the groundbreaking Night of the living Dead, Romero follows it up with not so much a sequel but more of a continuation of a theme; Dawn of the Dead. It is hands down the best Zombie movie ever made and I don't say that lightly. Night of the Living Dead was groundbreaking in what it did for modern cinema but Dawn of the Dead has somewhat more of an impact. The sociological statements and warnings against capitalism are still present too but are unfortunately often overlooked. Dawn of the Dead is somewhere toward the top of my top 10 best horror films ever made list. Hell, it's one of the best films ever made full stop!!
