Ball Trap on the Cote Sauvage
Dir: Jack Gold
1989
*
Ball Trap has some good elements to it, it's very of it's time and does make me feel quite nostalgic for summer holidays spent on Spanish Camp sites in the late 80's. Unfortunately the acting is really hammy, especially from Miranda Richardson who stinks the place up with her over the top performance and ridiculous accent. I can't say I've ever been a big fan of Andrew Davies either, he's quite well respected but I've never felt he's as good as his peers he's often associated with. I don't really understand the love it gets, It's not great and it's certainly no Mike Leigh.
