You can't beat a good old 1980's sweaty erotic neo-noir thriller. You can see the ending coming from a mile away, especially if you've seen 'Double Indemnity', the film this movie is based on/remakes, but this aspect of the film isn't particularly well written and way too much is left to chance. However, it's all about the passion, the attitude and racy dialogue. It's a 'what if' film, as in 'What if they took their clothes off in Double Indemnity and spoke sexy to each other?'. Sacrilege? Well, maybe a little bit but it has plenty of its own charm to be forgiven. Ted Danson and Mickey Rourke provide entertaining supporting roles and the chemistry between William Hurt and Kathleen Turner is always convincing. Watch next to an open window!
