Millions
Dir: Danny Boyle
2005
***
Apart from the fact that Danny Boyle doesn't know how to finish a film (with the exception of the very brilliant Shallow Grave) and ignoring the very obvious 'Influences' Frank Cottrell Boyce picked up from Pat McCabe's The Butcher Boy, Millions is a fantastic little film. The kid is a little annoying at times and it did lose fluidity towards the end whereby James Nesbitt & Daisy Donovan's characters get a little more involved in the story but overall it is a refreshingly sweet kids film with that is well balanced and has enough originality and enough heart, that you won't find yourself throwing anything at the TV and you won't end throwing up either.
