Harvie Krumpet
Dir: Adam Elliot
2003
*****
Harvie Krumpet is cinema's unsung hero. No matter what life throws at him; whether it be suffering from Tourettes, testicular cancer or being struck by lightening, he is decidedly optimistic and never lets an opportunity to get naked pass him by. We see the silent Harvie struggle through the worst life throws at him, the tenderness he retains throughout and the legacy he leaves behind. There is a message here for all walks of life, Harvie Krumpet says so much without uttering a single word. Adam Elliot spent 15 painstaking months making his clay animation and every single second was worth it. This is an alternative look at life and a little film that should be watched by all and forever treasured. Worthy of all it's accolades and praise.
